For the past 15 years, I have used a technique that I call \'Triangle Elk\'.
It employs 3 hunters/callers. All can be callers and all can be shooters.
Very, very deadly and effective.

Here is Deertick explaining our \'Triangle Elk\' on Labor Day 2104

great video brad, but man you hunt with some rough looking guys.

post what cow call sounds you make, do you all make the same sounds, how long do you wait an how far between sets.

well done men.

Rough looking, eh? You should see me after a week in the mountains!

I\'ll answer the \"how often\" question ... we\'d call in a \"triangle\" or \"circle\" with \"A\" starting, and \"B\" answering in about 10-60 seconds, then \"C\" answering in another 10-60 seconds, and then started again with \"A\".

Calls ranged from simple \"chirps\" and calf noise, to \"Mew, Mewww, mewwww\" to even an occasional spike bugle/squeal.

The cool thing about the set-up that day was that it went like this:

A, B, C, A, B, C, A, B, C, \"D\", A, B, C, \"D\" ... where \"D\" was the cow that eventually demonstrated a frontal shot with Brad.

The other cool thing Brad\'s group does is that if, say, \"C\" sees an elk coming in, then he stops calling. This alerts \"A\" and \"B\" that there is an elk spotted, and they call the animal into \"C\"\'s lap.

Is that about how you\'d explain it, Brad?

Yes, that is a good explanation.
But if I remember correctly it went more like this with me being A, Cole being B, John was C, elk was D.

A,B,C,A,B,C
A,B,C,D
A,B,C,D
Then it was C,D....C,D

THWACK..... THWACK....

In fact a couple days later, that happened when a caller out in front of me quit calling. I realized this and looked to see a cow in Matt\'s lap.

Brad . what would be really cool is if you guys did a video of the triangle elk sequence...but everyone is in the video frame just a few feet apart so guys can see exactly what you do , What calls you all are making etc. Just way closer to each other for the staged video sequence.
I might have to try try this with my family.

I\'ve used the triangle for years. Works very well when every knows how to call. Sometimes we ramp it up and get very loud and excited. It has brought the extra cautious ones in. ;)
