Uh Oh...

Inexpensive arrows?
Aint no such thing! :)

I shoot GoldTips XT Hunters - 55/75
When you get your bow, take it down to a bow shop and pull a blank shaft back and see where you want it cut off - usually just outside of your rest.
They will cut and install inserts part of the purchase.

Now is a good time to decide what point weight you will want to shoot too.

But....
What kind of rest did your bow come with?

It came with a Hoyt Ultra Rest from QAD, which is exactly what I wanted to shoot. Liked that better than whisker biscuits.

Welcome to the stick flingers bunch here! :welcome:

Sounds like you will need arrows that are spined in the 340 range. If there are any imprefections in arrow shafts, it will most likely be on the ends. So, when having your arrows trimmed to length, have them cut of some on both ends. By doing this, you could get buy a cheaper grade arrow to start out with. Then maybe later on you can upgrade to something else. I know if you put as much effort and knowledge into archery as you do in you firearms, you\'ll be a dead eye in no time. HMMMMMMM! we may have to change your BTO name to Dead Eye Derek.

oh heck yea!!

that is a very good bow. i love how you \"swung for the fence\" on the first bow, and didnt buy a starter bow. LOVE IT!!

there is a Hoyt shooter..his last name is Dudley. john dudley? i dont remember. super nice guy and he took a new hoyt set up from beginning to end. it is a 13 part segment. he called it something like \"Nocked and Ready to Load\". his fans begged him and he put them on youtube. you can watch 1-13 and he literally sets up a hoyt..i think it is a nitrium. the segment is pretty good, even a knucklehead like myself can feel impowered to do my own bow. i am 90% sure my next rig will be a hoyt. i like the tunable yokes.

arrows. inexpensive arrows. they exist. pretty sure they come from China, so you have to get over that. they are getting great reviews and you can even order them preloaded with lighted nocks. IIRC, they come with balanced regular nocks that weigh the same, so you can practice and tune and throw everything out of wack when you swap nocks.

DEER CROSSING Arrows. very inexpensive, but i heard they get pretty good results. like half the money if i remember.

Thanks for all the info guys! I am planning on getting a dozen Victory arrows in the next few weeks and will be setting those up, so not planning on going cheap in the long term. They just won\'t be here and done when my bow shows up. And what good is a bow if I can\'t shoot it? I\'ll just go buy a couple cheap ones from Wally World or something.

Cliff, I\'ll try to check out that video as well.

I\'m a gold tip guy through and through.

Jerry at south shore archery might be the best arrow builder ever. He goes to the trouble of spine testing the arrows and fletch them identical to each other w respect to the cock vane.

I shoot GT velocity XT arrows.

BUT!! If I was starting now, you would be going yourself a disservice if you didn\'t look into the new micro diameter arrows.
I\'m too set in my ways, But MD arrows are the new thing.

Don\'t go all out on the bow and then skimp on arrows. Get the best you can afford. These are decent arrows, and won\'t break the bank. Someone gave me 6 but i ended up cutting them down for my son.

Congrats on your bow and I know I am late to the party but I prefer Gold Tips. I have shot pretty much every brand made and I think Gold Tip is the toughest, best shooting arrow at the most economical price. I shoot Velocity XTs but the GT Hunter line is also great. If you want to save cash, pick up some Expeditions and cut from both ends....very few archers can out shoot even the cheapest grade arrows.
