i kinda want a Hilleberg tent..hahah..but i need that like a hole in the head. i dont do 4-season stuff.

i want a compact AR platform hunting rifle (dan knows why) but really? that would a tough sell to the wife..and i really dont need it. i dont rifle hunt much. :)

Pretty much everything I want I don\'t need.

New bow....definitely don\'t need.

Walther P22- Don\'t really need but fairly cheap and too much fun NOT to have one. :)

An uber nice spotting scope with phone picture attacher sounds great!
Definitely don\'t need either, but I can get some cool picture.

If I ain\'t got it by now, I don\'t need it.... :D :D

But I\'m sure I\'ll find \"something\" before seasons start again this year.... :haha: :haha:

Customized wall tent?

What customization are you talking about, Brad?

A trap door next to a cot would be nice for not having to go outside in the night.

Here are a few ideas I was kicking around

This would be for a 10x12 tent or maybe a 8x10

1- Have sewn-in slits at the peak where you can slide in a tree for a ridge pole so you dont need a frame kit

2- Have a sewn-in reinforced double canvas strip along the ridge so the peak wont wear or get torn [when using a tree for a ridge pole]

3- Have the stove jack located near the front door [not in the back] keeps all the wood & debris near the entrance for easy clean up

4- Have a sewn-in screen/window with a flap on the back wall - no door

5- Have the side walls no more than 30\" high or maybe even 28\"

6- 12\" sod cloth

Brad, these things listed here come standard on Davis tents, FYI. Both of our wall tents from them have the openings on the top along with the stove jack at the front of the tent. One of them has doors on both sides, but the other has a sewn in screen/window with a flap on the back wall. As far as the other things, I\'m sure you could ask them for that. Why would you only want 28\"-30\" side walls? Seems to me like you lose a lot of space with that. I would love to have 5\' sides instead of 4\' truthfully.

The idea about the wall tent does make me think of one piece of gear that I want but don\'t need though, and that\'s an internal frame setup for one of our tents. We have one with an internal frame and one with a traditional and those poles in the center of the tent get annoying. But annoying enough to spend $150 on the column kit plus the additional money for the poles? I\'m not sure...

Pop up camper. Most of my hunting is truck hunting. I\'d love to be able to pull into camp, set up, hunt, have beds, stove, etc, all contained. The best part is I could keep majority of the goods in it while at home and I wouldn\'t have to unpack and sort everything every weekend.

I\'d take a wall tent though with a stove. That\'s be nice as well but I\'d probably want a trailer to haul everything, and then just park the trailer at home instead of having to unload everything each time.

I dont know about everyone else, but I dont spend a whole lot of time in my wall tents.
When I do, im sitting down on a chair or on my cot

With the cots next to the outside wall, the eave will be just above your head when lying down and when the heat source is going, the heat will travel up to the peak, down to the eave and right on top of you.

Shorter walls means less weight, less space to heat

I would have the ridge peak only 6ft too.

I dont need a Hilton when I hunt, just a warm, dry place to sleep

Lark, I\'ve got a 10x12 Davis tent I\'m getting ready to put on Craigslist if you\'re interested. Summit Stove too. I\'m 6\'4\" so like the taller side walls but understand what Brad is saying.

Makes sense Brad. The only reason I would want it higher is because we use cot trees to hang out clothes on, like the one here. Having a little extra height would be nice because of those. And, like Russ, I\'m 6\'4\". But then again, our place is kind of like the Hilton :D

My idea of a wall tent would be one I could stand up somewhere in it. I could get by with shorter walls I guess but I would want it over 6\' tall. This is coming from someone who has never hunted out of one.

Russ
Sent you a PM about the tent

I\'ll try to get the thread back on topic:

1. high end spotter, as Dan mentioned above, with picture taking thingy (as dan also mentioned....)
2. one of those huge Yeti-type coolers, but without the car loan required to pay for it....

I\'m still not sure why I need a \"yeti\" cooler. the only time I need to \"keep ice for a week\" is in the mountains of CO in Oct, and then my fear isnt my ice all melting........ my fear is actually FREEZING my stuff solid overnight.
