My CCW is a Springfield XDS 4\'\' in .45. Very easy to conceal and it is a good shooting pistol.

Just curious what holster you use? I recently purchased a Blackhawk Serpa with paddle for mine. I tried an inside the pants holster and didn\'t like it. Can\'t remember what brand though.

I have a Alien gear IWB holster that I love I can wear it all day and you can\'t beat there prices. I had a custom leather holster made that I use for my OWB. They both fit the bill never had the urge to buy another one because these holster work well for me.

Glock27 IWB but hate how big it is. When I talk myself into opening my wallet I want to buy a g43.

I can also conceal my g29 but its a little bigger...

I\'ve held and shot the g43, it\'s very nice!!!
I\'d LOVE to have the g29 for the woods. :upthumb: :mg:

I bought a 6\" ported kkm barrel for my g29. The longer barrel really helps ballistics and it controls the 200+ grain billets much better. It\'s a badass gun. I also have a g20 that I need to sell because I always grab the 29. Anybody want a full size 10mm?

I just assumed most folks know what a KelTec PF9 is but for those who don\'t it\'s a small composite frame semi-auto that has a 3.1\" barrel and a 7 round magazine... I always carry 1 in the tube so I have 8 rounds to get me out of a given situation... About 16 oz fully loaded...

I\'m going to have to check those out Phil. They look pretty sleek and not very expensive at all! I like the idea of being able to throw it in my pocket.

this new 42 fits in my front pocket so nice.....! everyone that I have shown, couldn\'t tell what was in there :D

I have been wanting to purchase a handgun, and was looking at a CC permit. Think I may end up with the gun, but probably will wait and not carry it yet. To get a CC permit here in Illinois you have to take out a mortgage.......

That\'s one of the reasons I left the Republic of Illinois 38 years ago. Never have looked back!

My glock 26 fits well in a front pocket or IWB pretty decent. I also have an ankle holster, but threw out them baggy bell bottom jeans last year :dance2: the slightly bigger glock 20.... Well, it does fit in the glove box. I got a big one... I love that baby glock!

Ya didn\'t ask what I\'ve got in the truck and for home protection....

I took some training. Shooting. Clearing a room, moving about cars etc.

It was so difficult. Not second nature at all. I want a CC, but I\'m not sure I qualify. Pulling a gun in a car is effen scary. I had a dummy gun and was aiming it at my own parts. :)

Wife and I have been tossing around moving somewhere out west in the next couple years once my youngest gets done with college.

The Illinois CC permit costs 150 dollars. Then you have to take a 16 hour course and that costs 240 dollars. Then you have to send in finger prints and they are charging 50 bucks for that.

440 dollars for a lovely CC permit in the Republic of Illinois.

don, that sucks......
in mn, 75 for the class and 75 for the paperwork.
I am encouraging all to get it and carry..... for that, now too common, fight for your life...

Really seems like a permit shouldn\'t be required to carry. 2nd amendment seems sufficient. Guess that\'s a way to make some money. I pack a little Ruger LCP in my front pocket and a S&W .40 in the truck. I don\'t remember what it cost me to get my permit in Missouri. I got a deal on the class, I have a buddy who is a certified instructor so I saved some money on the class. I think the going rate is about 150.

Colorado is pretty easy to get your permit. I have talked to people that took there ccw class that lasted 2-4hrs and they learned a lot and others that the course was a joke. The one thing that I recommend to any one carrying is to find an reputable outfit that does tactical pistol training. I have taken several tactical pistol courses and force on force trainings. Everyone can shoot at a paper person but try doing it with someone shooting back and you or yelling at you putting you in a stressful situation. And what to do when you run out of ammo or your gun jambs, shooting and reloading off handed. If you are in northern Colorado check out a group called the Makhaira group these guys and gals are amazing teachers.

I agree Its great that so many carry but I feel the training is also an important aspect. proper gun malfunction clearance and as stated some type of stress induced (Time pressure or hollering). makes people who are good shooters start to fall apart. especially on day four or five of it.

Wife and I are giving CC classes in Ft. Collins to her brother and his wife for Christmas. We\'ll attend, too ... good to have an update, and after that, we\'ll take the advice above and take a live fire course. Or two or three. They look fun, and what a great thing to do in the winter. We (the two couples) don\'t share a whole lot in common, but this will be a great way to open up some conversation while gaining just a bit more confidence.
