Which Diaphragm from Rocky Mountain Elk Call is your favorite?

All of them!!! Seriously though, I use the Mellow Mama (yellow) and Steve Chapell Excited Estrous (Orange) for cow calls...and the Closer (Red) and Raging Bull (Brown) for bull calls. As you can see I'm a fan of the palate plate style, but am going to try out Corey's new Elk 101 Contender (White) which is a tone top this year...I', sure I will like it.
They sell a couple of variety packs...I recommend starting with one of those and seeing which one fits best for you. Also, check out you tube for some great calling instruction from Rocky himself!

I recently purchased the Contender and I've been very pleased with it :upthumb:
Most of them I do not like. They have real longevity issues. I have a bunch last only 2 hours before the latex is stretched and useless. So far the best one I have found is the Mountain Mistress. I am going to try the contender next. Corey says they should have good longevity.

For me the pink mistress and the all-star 101 are the best. I tried the contender and found it didn't hold up. The second round is said to be better, but I've yet to try it. Find a diaphragm that fits well in your mouth and you can make a range of calls with.
I like the brown raging bull. I scored a couple of the contenders on early release through Elk101 university (super score!). Although one held up and another blew out and became delamed after a 3-4 hour interaction with a herd bull.
That being said, reading between the lines, I managed to keep a herd bull semi interested enough with a hot cow to come at us a couple times and then a satellite and fork came in and blew us up. I am impressed. Call manipulation was easy and fluid. I had to switch to the other after though. Anything man made can break and doesn?t sway me from the brand.
