Which direction will elk travel to feed?

Do elk only go down hill to feed?

I\'ve personally seen them travel up over a ridge to their south, then continue toward their feeding area.

I think they go to the feed and water. Most of the times they bed on benches, but not always. Where I have hunted, there are large flats that have both feeding and bedding areas. The elk just move from place to place.
