which Video camera?

Id like to film more of my hunt this year,  I have a Sanyo Xacti CG10 780p HD as a back up video, but would like something 1080p HD and better suited for the job. What do you guys use or what would you recommend around the $700 range. Ive thought about a 2nd hand Canon DSLR or a Canon N52 camcorder..... Thought's?

The Canon Vixia series worked well for us for a few years....full HD, good zoom, good in low light...and affordable.

for a back up camera i have just a nikon coolpix aw 100 16 mp built in gps water proof etc.even comes in camo thats a back up to go pro and a sony ultra compact but i wind up hunting more than filming never have the camera thought when the game gets close

I use a jvc everio.  Only $200 but has one of the higher optical zooms you'll find at 40x.  It is pretty lightweight and fits in a shirt pocket so very packable.  I saw they have since come out with a waterproof/shockproof version for around $500.
