Whisker Biscuit vs Fall Away Rests

Let\'s hear it!

I shot a whisker biscuit last year and loved it. I\'ve since given it to my son for his new bow and I went with a Mathews Fall-away rest with NO capture system, just two prongs which was given to me, and I hate it.

What do you shoot and why?

Talk me out of buying another whisker biscuit on my way home tonight. :tease:

What ever turns you on! But for me, I like the Ripcord Code Red. The first thing I do is throw away that little capture bar on it. Unless you are shooting up side down or standing on your head, there is no need for it.

i thought about changing to a fall away rest. but the whisker is so reliable and the fps difference is so negligible, why change.....

Is that because of fletching contact?

The more mechanical, more chance for failure. However, the only time I\'ve seen failure was when a customer dripped some glue into one. (I own an archery shop)

Whisker Biscuits do wear out and the arrow will sag in the rest but after many, many shots. There is loss of accuracy at long distances, maybe 40+ yards. many guys don\'t even notice.

I sell about 5 to one drop aways over WB.

Hope that muddied the water a little. Purchase quality because that gives you confidence. If you don\'t think a drop away will get you through a rugged ten day hunt, better go with the WB. If you want to be the most accurate and aren\'t intimidated by technology, go drop away.

I shoot drop away with a little containment. Because I have knocked the arrow off the rest by bumping the arrow against a branch in the treestand and on the ground

Absolutely not! The capture bar serves no purpose at all that I can see. As far as I\'m concerned, it is nothing more that another brush catcher. Contrary to what cnelk stated, a properly tuned drop away rest should have NO clearance problems at all reguardless of if you are shooting vanes or feathers.

The only reason I leave mine on is for tree stand hunting my bow is on my lap all the time. With the bar on I know my arrow is where I want it when I raise my bow up without having to look at it. With the rip cord I never had any clearance problems even with my blazers. But my new bow has Hoyt`s drop away on it and I had to turn my cock vane to around 10 o`clock to get it to clear.

I\'m sure you will love your new rest. Here is a video on how to set it up and fine tune it.

I use the same style of rest WW does. I prefer it, but my son prefers the Whisker Biscuit.
