I can hardly wait for this weekend to check the Meat Pole thread every 15 minutes all day!!!! Then I started wondering...\"who is going to be the first to post a pic?\"

That\'s tough because we have so many killers going out, but some will be back before others.


I bet we as a site have 3 opening day elk killed.


I\'m also going out on a limb and saying we have more than 30 elk killed this year.

so the over-under just got set at 3? hahha

i cant wait to see the pics and read the stories..and MOST importantly, gathered up all the \"lessons-learned\" to prop us up collectively as better elk hunters!! go team.

So, my big lesson learned is that I shot \"through\" a barbed wire fence last year and my broadhead blade hit a wire and sailed. The arrow actually bucked and was cut in two by the wire. I was only 13 yards from the cow elk.

2nd chance last year was a 4x4. Mis-judged the distance and the arrow went just over his spine.

Both haunt me, but I\'m glad they were clean misses. And, 2 of our 4man group that had never gotten elk with their bows got them last year so that made the trip and we brought meat home.

I like Dan\'s predictions, but I would put $ on opening day being higher than 3....
