Who here hunts late season deer?

Rick,

We are talking about deer, not moose
Just kidding, that is a STUD of a buck!!!!! What a fantastic late season kill.

Did you enter him through the Cy Curtis program?
The mass and tine length are GREAT! Looks like a very mature deer.
140s?

Haven\'t had him scored officially yet. But will enter him into PnY and Cy Curtis. Should net in the low 140\'s with very little deductions. I actually think he was a 4.5 year old. I had seen him one other time in mid November. Had a couple of trail cam photos of him also, but none after January 4th. :wtf:

Beautiful buck! I love how thick his bases are. Big 8s will get some hearts going crazy for sure......
Would love to see the score sheet when you get it back.

Our resident big buck hunter from Kansas, Tim, killed a 172\" 8 point that will make some people cry.

He\'s actually a perfect 10. His G2 is leaning against the tree. I\'d love to kill a 150\"+ 8 point.

Rick,
please forgive me lol.

I am doing homework and messing around on the forum. That is 100% a 10 and I am 100% embarrassed.
I even counted 10 when I was looking at it and then wrote 8. Guess I need to pay more attention.

GEEZ! haha I\'m going to go sit in the corner now and zip my mouth. :tease:

I shot a 10 that is 151 net and an 8 that is 156 net. The 8 does look much larger than the 10.

It\'s a state ran program that any deer over 135\" typical and 155\" non-typical, can be put in the books. It is all weapons too. I also believe the state uses this record book to define the hot areas of the state. I don\'t know many people that actually enter their deer in it anymore.

Like Rick said, it\'s basically Oklahoma\'s specific P&Y/B&C program rolled into one.

Who was Cy Curtis?
Cy Curtis was a wildlife biologist who worked for the Wildlife Department was from Stilwell and lived from 1912 to 1982. He is recognized as the man most responsible for the restoration of white-tailed deer in Oklahoma. Today, his name recognizes trophy deer as well as elk, antelope and black bears.
