:wave: hi. Just got home from 2nd season elk rifle in Colorado. Saw herd 1st morn , 3 bulls and 5 cow calfs. They were 1000 yards out. Was able to close to 300 yds. Saw 2 cows but Bulls were in heavy brush. Wind was right, thought I could close but was busted by cows at 200 yds. Did not see another elk all season. Was hot and dry for late October. Did see Black bear at 70 yds. Still have New Mexico hunt 3rd of Dec. Should be colder by then I hope.
