Speed cycled 4 miles with my son this morning.......dead tired. What have you all done the last few days to prep for elk season?

I just got back from a mountain hike with the pooch. I do it 7 days a week. Sometimes with pack, and sometimes without, but I do a faster pace without the pack.

Now i\'m hungry.

rode my bike to church (7 miles one way), will lift tomorrow. i dont speed ride though.

I\'ve fallen off the bandwagon the last several weeks, I got two job offers and one is too good to pass up on, they say they will work with me so I don\'t miss my elk hunt, but I\'m sweating broadheads a over it. I\'ll know more in a week and half but next year I\'ll be way better off come September.

I\'ve dropped a couple more pounds but am aiming for 20 more by September. Time will tell.

I took the long weekend off, but Ive been fast walking 2 miles every morning at 5am.
Going to start with the pack this week, then bump it to 3 miles

Spent the day on the road today ... back it tomorrow with P90x3, and maybe some hiking.

Went camping and tested out a few new pieces of gear. Scouted some deer grounds, found a lot of deer and their beds. Hiked my arse off with my Tenzing 2220 loaded up. Had a great time and can\'t wait for September.

i did okay today. better than i thought.

for me it\'s about shooting my bow AND exercising. finding time for both is a challenge. today, i opted to do both. i chose a bow range, as a non-member, i have to walk to. it was hot. i loaded up a pack with ballast, and water..and headed off with the wife and my small, senior citizen dog.

i ended up having to carry my dog pretty much the entire distance both ways. i was carrying a good load.

i shot GREAT. i hit a good group at 100 yards and headed home. met new guys. i might join up with them.

i have pics of me carrying my dog over my shoulder, and a quick pic of my group at 100..one guy had binos and he kept yelling..you hit SPOT at 100!

not even sure what that means.

7-2 I walked 3 miles with #50 in the pack some hills too. 7-3 road bike the same 3 miles. The bike is harder on the legs than walking they really burn by the time I reach the top. 7-6 biked the 3 miles with my 15 yo son. LOL he had trouble keeping up with me on the hills. I will put the pack on for tonight and up the weight to 65 in August.

Back to working out this morning ... hopefully will get a hike in this afternoon. Did a little shooting this morning until it got too windy.

did an awesome mountain bike ride today..i didnt crash :)

super fun. my mountain bike is from 1999 and it was amazing trying to catch a guy riding a brand new ride. i couldnt do it. especially ripping on a big downhill. he would just point his rig downhill, let go of the brakes and ZOOM! gone. his bigger wheels floated over sand, hopped over roots with ease.

i need a new bike. hahaha. if for anything..the more confidence inspiring brakes. new brakes are excellent!

Four of us went and shot 2d last night(Buddy, newphew, and son). Sweat pouring into our eyes, tired, and out of breath. Reminds me of season!

Ran 2.5 mile trail last night. Did okay. Taking a break today. Tomorrow droning up to the sierras for scouting and heavy pack training. I am gonna purposely load up a pack heavy for our short duration trip.

I filled mine and my son\'s pack with rocks for our camping/scouting trip last weekend. The thighs were burning!

Been doing 3 miles a night with 50# pack. maybe time to start adding a little. shooting 60-75 shots a night also.

I didn\'t do my workout yesterday because I had to work overtime. I put in 16.5 hours and 10 of it was moveing heavy furniture that took at least 2 men some took 4. I was sore last night and my feet felt beat. I had 5 hours of sleep and back up at 4:30 am. I plan to take tonight off to heal the sore muscles then bike and hike again Friday.
