Checked weather and supposed to be 37 opening morning at 7500\' where I\'m hunting. Going down early enough tomorrow to go get voucher plus I pick up the costs of a voucher for the ranch hand\'s son. Sure puts things in perspective for an $11 youth tag and their overwhelming appreciation!

Finding elk and killing elk are 2 very different things. I\'m decent at the first but apparently really bad at the second! Got in on a couple Bulls but couldn\'t even get the bow drawn. Shoulda, woulda, coulda. Could have killed a cow but passed at 10 minutes after shoot light on opening morning. I am hoping I don\'t regret it. No bugles so far, been out since 330am this morning.

If I had an extra cow tag I\'d be cussing the steep mountain as I carried elk out. Just an either sex.
