Broadheads... mechanical? Or not for elk.

Not saying you can?t, but I would never want anything but a fixed broadhead at the end of my arrow when it matters most

Blood sport Gravedigger is the best of both worlds.  Great blood trail from the deer I got last year, excited to try it on an elk this fall. 
 
And you can?t go wrong with Iron Will.  Only negative I?ve ever heard about them is the price, and I?m the grand scheme of the cost of my hunts each year it?s a pretty minimal expense

They have killed dozens of deer and 2 elk for me.
 
I may try the Iron Wills this year or even the Valkyrie system. I already have some pierce platinums left over from last year so it?s not a big difference in price.

My broad head of choice the last few years has been the Muzzy Trocar but they are a one and done most of the time.
