Atypical I know but used a pair of not waterproof, Salomon, backpacking shoes for a wilderness hunt. About 30 lbs on my back, all kinds of terrain. Dried out during the day while I was wearing them. Base camp surrounded by water and in years past always went in over the tops of my boots and ended up with soaked, heavy boots. Might never hunt in anything else unless it?s really cold. Did bring a pair of Rockies as back up and never used them.
Every pair of boots i buy wont last more then 2 year let alone 1.
