Frontal Shots on Elk

Never shot mechanical (not legal in Idaho), but have heard the biggest nock is it failing if you hit bone.  For those of you that have taken frontal shots are you hitting sternum and or ribs and what was the result with your broadhead?  I've gone through the off side shoulder blade on several occasions with a two blade stinger.  What happens to a mechanical?

Good video and great shot. Was he shooting a mechanical broadhead? The arrow didn't penetrate very deep. Very effective though.

It was interesting that the bull just stood there after he was hit.  He jumped at the sound of the shot but then didn't know what hit him. Usually an animal will do a death sprint if hit like that.  I took a frontal shot on a cow elk at very close range and had similar results.  Incredible amount of blood and very short tracking job.
