How far do you travel to pursue elk

Man some of you guys really put in some serious window time!  I'm able to hunt 20 mins from my house but my honey hole is an hour and forty five minutes from home.  If I'm going to the old stomping grounds where I learned elk hunting it's 5 1/2 hours east.  I'm feeling really lucky after reading some of these other posts!

Because of work I am about an hour away.  Before I was about 10 min away but with gas prices I moved closer to the job.

I'm from New Jersey. Planes and rental cars are the norm. Usually a full day of travel before I hit my destination.

When we drive its 1935 miles/30 Hours from Central Ohio to Idaho. Few years ago went hunting Wyoming antelope, drove out 1300 miles and back, three weeks later went to Idaho. Put 7000 miles on the F150 in a month.

I usually drive 1 to 2 hours to get into my elk spots.  Sometimes the bulls are in my yard, but good luck drawing Wenaha tags.

About 1500 miles for us.  Takes about 28hrs only stopping for gas and a quick bite to eat.  Four grown men in one truck makes for a long ride.  Its all worth it though.

About 25 miles to the drainage I most often go to, however it is six hours and a full days hike to my favorite spot. Sadly I don't take the time to go there as often as I would like.

For me I drive about 6 hours to hunt here in Idaho but with that being said i could honestly drive about ten minutes and hunt elk.  I enjoy my honey hole a lot better then close to home.  For me its all about getting away from the house and camping and spending quality time with family and friends.
