Hunt Update Thread

My morning was not as lucky, not horrible. This spot presented me with another encounter.

I was originally going to hunt my water hole until I found the cat was there an hour before. I decided to hunt a pinch point that goes to their bedding. Around 9 am I hear a bugle and it sounds like he\'s coming in. Another bugle.... ok, he\'s getting closer.
Then another bugle and he\'s behind me.... \"that sounds like it came from the water hole.....\"

So I sprint up a hill and hop on this trail that brings me to the water hole. Sure enough.... I make it about 80 yards from the water hole and I see a cows head pop up and start walking towards me.... followed by a rag bull (4x4).

They cut into the woods, but still keep coming towards me....

The cow was leading it and he kind of hung back. The cow passes a lane I have a 10 YARDS...and keeps going. He starts to walk and then wind beats me again.....

The cow must have smelt me because she ran straight back by him. HE WAS 5 YARDS FROM STEPPING INTO MY LANE.....

The worst part is the trail they were taking would have put them right passed me at the pinch point. They went up to water, down, and then would have gone back up past my pinch point to their bedding...

A double! Wow great job Brad.... now the freezer is full and you can be picky in Wyoming....... Congrats on the kills :clap: :clap:

Congrats Brad! That\'s a ton of meat.

Good luck Lark, you guys have a good game plan and I have a good feeling about this weekend...Just make sure you leave one for me in a couple weeks!

That may be part of it.

I took care of the cow. All quartered up and now I came out to meet Aaron Johnson at our rendezvous spot.
Then we will go back in and break down the bull and pack both out.
It will probably be raining by then.

Deertick can you post those pics I sent?
I only had a digital camera this morning and the pics are from the viewer on that.
More pics and story in the future.

Brad, that is awesome! Well done!!!

Dan, keep at em. I have a weird feeling that these encounters are all for the best and you are going to tag out on a really nice bull. Stay patient!

Labor Day weekend is going to be good for BTO!
It has started out good and will end up great!

All I can do is root from the sidelines now!!!

And.... Aim Small Miss Small jumps out in front !
