Is anyone else excited for Wills bear hunt?

Thanks guys! I am absolutely beat. 14 hour drive yesterday and lots of work to get to today. Great trip though! Here\'s the recap. Some of you will see this twice as there\'s a thread on another site as well.

Thursday, I got out around 5:30am for one of the most beautiful road trips I\'ve ever taken. Wyoming was absolutely vibrant this year with all the rain!

Arrived in Missoula at 6:30pm and had dinner with my buddy Hunter and his family before meeting another friend and heading to camp. Finally arrived at our Idaho camp around midnight. Long day. The next day we got up and baited before doing some sight seeing. The bait sight had been hit. High anticipation for the first night, but didn\'t hear or see a thing. Pretty country!

A shot of the blind. We were about invisible tucked in there, 15 yards from the bait

When we returned the next day bait have obviously been destroyed. You cover the bait with large logs and they were strewn around as if they\'d been attacked. Justin pulled the sd card from the camera without turning it off so we weren\'t able to see what did it but we were confident it\'d be an eventful sit.

We were right! At about 8:30 (its light till a lil after 10pm) we heard a twig snap in an otherwise perfectly quiet forest. Justin immediately said, \"That\'s a bear!\". We heard a few more slight noises over the next hour as I\'m assuming he circled the bait for a while. At 9:30 I saw him in the very left most corner of my view. I had decided I wouldn\'t shoot a small bear. This was an absolute \"no doubter\"! I nudged Justin, as he had his eyes closed, and his eyes went wide as he said \"Shoot that beast!!\". I wasn\'t going to wait long on this guy so when he came clear, broadside, I drew. I had to look away from my peep once to make sure I was about 4-5 inches behind the shoulder before settling and WHACK! He hit the ground and was off in a hurry. Crash! Crash! Like a train going through thick woods. He ran uphill for a few seconds before he turned and was coming back at us. Then a subtle ARGGH and complete silence. There was only about 15 seconds from the time I saw him to the time he was done. AWESOME!

Arrow was clean until the fletching and about 50-55 yards from the blind

We didn\'t have to blood track as when we looked behind the blind there was a giant mass which, at first, I couldn\'t quite believe was him. He\'s an absolute beauty with a spotless chocolate coat. This one will do :upthumb:

This is the abbreviated version as I\'m beat but I\'ll post a few more pics tmro.
