Montec G5 vs Shuttle T

I use their stone, it works OK at best. They never seem to be as sharp as when they come out of the box.


My buddies use the Strykers for this reason. I get them as sharp as I can using their stone and a sharpy and call it good.


Havn't found anything better yet.

Yea, pretty much the same here. Although I had started using the G5 Sportsman Sharpener at the very end and it seemed to give them a little extra sharpness.

I think I am going to us the 125 gr CS Montecs this year. Will push me over 500 gr arrow. I hunt the brush and have never shot over 34 yds. Will loose a little speed, but should hit like a truck

500gr, that's awesome.  As far as the Montecs, do your normal routine with the diamond stone and leather strop. Then runs the blades ever so gently over the G5 Sportsman Sharpener.
