New Member here/ thoughts on were to applynextseason4myson

We will consider any state and will have 10 or so days to devote to the adventure. Thanks Kevin.

My recommendation to people is attempt to draw new mexico and then if you don\'t draw, go hunt your otc units.

This may be a little different though due to it being youth.

Kevin, plan to hunt with your son. The time I spend sharing hunting adventures with my son are beyond great. Instead of assisting your son, join him. I don\'t know your personal situation, but you don\'t have to even be in great physical shape to effectively hunt. I won\'t mention any names, but even guys like WW, or Swede can still get elk. We have to go more on orneriness, knowledge and persistence, and less on the physical, but we can still get er done. I know tags are expensive, but it will be money well spent in the long run.
BTW, Oregon has some good youth cow hunts. You might check them out.

Thanks guys, I get what your saying about hunting with my son and I absolutely go with my son everywhere on a hunt like this. I just choose not to get a tag and carry a bow or rifle. Honestly I just can\'t see myself shooting first or shoot an elk he just missed. All of our hunts and fishing trip are about family and the experience. And I try to emphasize that as much as I can. That said we do like wild game and fish so we try to make the game and fish we take part of our meals as much as we can. Thanks for all of your input and advice. Kevin.

Kevin,
Even tho Colorado has OTC tags, getting Pref Points is still a good idea.
New applicants have to pay a little more than if you typically buy a license each year, but its a good way to get a good tag.

For instance, if you like ML hunting, it only takes about 1 PP to get a E/S tag.
Its during archery season and during the rut.

Even to I lOVE archery hunting, i will be applying for a ML tag in the near future

More to come
