New Release

I swapped to the fold-back hook 3 years ago, was a little nervous about it coming off the loop but you have to be trying to make it fall off. I really liked the strap style calipers but always seemed to \"tink\" them off the bow, stand or seemingly anything that made it (them) make a metal clink sound. Nothing can beat quickly flipping it out and hooking it to your bow without taking your eyes off the target.

Finally settled on a new hunting release. Scott Rhino XT NCS with a swept back trigger. It doesn\'t have the typical roller like most Scott releases. It breaks like a hinge and you put your finger on the trigger as its heavy enough it won\'t fire. It allows you to employ a good Backtension technique which has helped my shooting out quite a bit. I can say it may not be for everybody though, I tried out several releases and had a particular feel in mind when I came across this release.

I bought the very same release for my daughter. She learned to shoot a index trigger properly and she likes to have travel so that she has no fear of it going off prematurely. I tried to tell her for for the last few years that the travel she likes actually sucks for a release and what she needs is a heavier trigger and little to no travel. That is what the Rhino XT gives you. She likes the release but won\'t switch until turkey season is over.
