New strings

It does for sure, depend on how often you shoot and how you care for your string. My bow is 10 years old and on it\'s third set of strings. Each set I took off was still plenty good to use as a backup set with no problems. Plenty of life left in them if needed.

well, I got my new string put on the bow. man it feels like a completely new bow. has a solid back wall and anchor point now. its noticeably faster also.... I like it a lot!

I noticed the same thig when I changed mine. Felt like a new bow. Totaly different feeling.

My bow will be turning 10 this year and it is on it\'s third string. It has had 2 Mathews strings and 1 BuckNasty. Never had a problem with any of them. I just figured about every 3 years or so it might be a good idea to change them out. I always keep the old set for a backup. Just about all strings now days are made of the same material. So the only difference in them is the quality of craftsmanship that goes into them.

OOPS! Sorry, I forgot I had answered this one before. Old age does that to a fella. I just had my 39th birthday AGAIN today!

hahaha. my 38th will be in about 2 weeks. yes, my first.....

WW is working on his third time around this year!

Honestly, if you take care of your string and cables and don\'t shoot a whole lot, they should last you quite a while. Mark your cams so you know if your set is stretching and make sure you\'re keeping them waxed. I always have a spare set with me in my tool box, ready to go, and a pocket press that I can use to change everything out with if it comes down to that in camp. It\'s a pain to do and I\'ll lose a day to the change out and tune if t becomes necessary, but it sure beats trying to find a pro shop that will drop everything for me and change out my set on a moments notice.

In an earlier post I stated you don\'t need a bowpress on some bows in order to change the strings and cables. The link here shows one way to do it.
