Just got in for evening sit. East winds and warmer than we would like. In a new spot I\'ve never hunted before but the crew has been seeing a PnY buck frequenting this area. Rick went to go hunt a stand I\'ll most likely sit in the morning along the creek. Evenings are sporadic on this place for deer movement historically.
Aaron forgot his phone. No updates until later. I\'m in a stand that I\'ve seen a beast of a buck on Friday and also had a 130\" 8 point come by yesterday at ten yards. Here\'s a screen shot of the buck from video. He jumped out of the brush and back in chasing a hot doe. He was also busy running of the 4 other bucks that were hounding her. Never had a shot opportunity.
Nothing happened last night after my initial post, well... Other than beers and backstraps at camp with the crew!
I\'m back in the funnel this morning. Wind has shifted to SSE which is still good for this sit. I might do what I said I wasn\'t going to do and end up shooting a doe if the right opportunity presents itself. I\'m getting an itchy trigger finger...
I got lucky on a nice mature SE Oklahoma buck yesterday morning. Had never seen this buck before or had any history. He chased a doe across a right of way and I stopped him at 17 yards and sent one in the crease. He was nose diving in seconds. Went down in 40 yards. 20.5\" inside for reference and 5.25 inch bases. Super happy with this Oklahoma buck!
Aaron came close... Had some good activity on Tuesday morning but no dice. Enjoyed his company!
