solo or partner

I used to always hunt with a small group but we'd hunt solo each day and meet up somewhere around lunch or back at camp at nite.  Lately I've run out of any friends that bowhunt more than 3 or 4 days and I like to do maybe 10-14 days so I've ended up hunting solo the last few years.  I really don't enjoy having no one to talk to and coming back to an empty camp but you gotta do what you gotta do.  I'm 58 and would have probably enjoyed the solo thing more when I was younger but I always had groups back then and only rifle hunted.

I have always hunted with either my brother or a buddy.  I prefer to share the experience with someone.  I can def. see the benefits of being solo. less noise for sure but you also have to pack that monster out all by yourself

My opinion is you can have more luck with a partner.  If a bull is hung up and your solo it's kinda hard to move when he knows something's there.  With a partner you can get a better tactical advantage.  My partner and I use to be the shooter all day but now we switch up set ups in order to get more hunting time.

I do some of both. It used to be just me and my hunting partner then we added another guy in camp I started hunting by myself more. It sure is nice though when you have a bull down and have to pack it out to have partners in camp.

I like to hunt solo, but also hunt with buddies.  We will camp together, but then head out our separate ways and then check in with radios if someone needs help with something.

Nothing like accomplishing a hunt solo, but will never pass the opportunity to share memories with a good friend or family.

I prefer solo honestly. I do go with people from time to time but I tend to go solo more often than not. I think I have learned more about myself while solo hunting than I ever have.

solo... love just being able to really think with no interruptions and listen to all the sounds in the mountains.

I am partial to always hunting with a partner.  Tag team hunting elk is a blast. Working the calls, working the wind, and then most importantly the additional help with the pack out.  Even if I am not the one making the shot, we share in the success as a team.

I do both. Love hunting with a good partner to share the experience and have someone you can trust to work the elk. When by myself, I have got into a lot of elk too. Better with a partner to help once the shot is fired also. Four eyes are better than two when tracking blood.

I like hunting with a buddy. When you shoot something it is a lot easier and quicker to get it cut up and out of there. And you have someone to call for you and vice versa. Not to mention someone to shoot the breeze with once your back to camp.

Since I've been hunting in the mountains, I hunt with a partner.  It's safer and works better for elk set-ups.  However, I grew up hunting the woods and creeks of southwest Missouri by myself.  I essentially taught myself to hunt by spending every waking minute in the woods studying nature and wildlife.  I do indeed miss spending time alone in the woods.
