TBM here and ready to talk big deer!!

My wife, who hunts with me, is scared of them. She says they give her the heebie jeebies. I hate them and want them all dead. :)

wow Rick that is a nice hog.... I miss hunting and trapping them in South GA all you needed was a farmer with a peanut field and he would let you kill as many as you could.

Nice hog Rick. Can you hunt them all year? Sounds like some fun off season hunting.

Yep, it\'s private land. Around 1200 acres. I took it over in 2008 and made it bow only. I also limited the hunters to six. We don\'t invade it much in the off season with my newcustom bowstrings. There\'s a 200 acre no hunt zone in the central portion. We don\'t plant crops or run feeders. Everything is pretty natural. We are going to mow a little around the field edges this season although to promote new growth. Also in areas were there is volunteer clover that pops up every spring and will again in September if it\'s mowed.

Before I took it over in 2008, it was hunted too hard and in all seasons. The guy that was \"managing\" it was too liberal (imo) and let wives and kids hunt with a lease member. So, in turn the young bucks were getting killed. Along with many does. The age structure and herd dynamics are about right as of now. Probably 3/4 does to every buck.

As for the big buck that Aaron showed you guys, his name is Elvis. Haven\'t seen him since that photo. We can hope that he\'s still alive. He is a giant.

Can\'t wait for game cam pics this time!!
