What did you do today....

Eye exam this morning. Think that\'ll help?

Edit:

Well, I was right ... my eyes are getting worse. Sounds like new glasses and a surgical consultation are in order.

I sure wish I had taken care of this a little sooner, but one way or another my vision will be (some) better by September.

oh no! i\'m far sighted so it sucks..no surgery for me ever. on the bright side i see 20.20 far.
my bow pins are fuzzy-ish..

removed 6 yards of dirt and replaced it with 3 yards of sand. widening the driveway, by hand..... I am pooped!

I can only imagine.... the last time I felt that pain was when I ended the Schroeder gene pool

Just finished my Drs appointment.

I have stay on my behind until July 22nd...

NO working out either....

BAD TIMING!!!!!!! :x

That royally stinks. Sorry to hear that.

How about a rowing machine?

Bench weight lifting? Hand weights?

I do a core exercise with back on floor and lifting legs in air 90 degrees to floor. I optionally use hand weights with varying weight. My toes never touch anything. I can get my heart pumping and the weights add resistance.

I asked about doing just upper body workouts or other types of exercises that wouldn\'t touch my toe, but they were not going for it.
They didn\'t want me putting any strain on my body or any \"blood rushing to my toe.\"

They just want me sitting the whole time with my leg propped up.

The one thing they semi bought off on was me shooting my bow from the seated position.

This will be nice because I wont lose any of my bow muscle memory.

It stinks, but I will take advantage of it. I had been working out really hard before this surgery and probably not resting enough.
So this will give my body some much needed recovery/rebuild time.

Once its done, I will be about 40 days out from my hunt, so I have enough time to get back into my groove.

Did they prescribe copious amounts of chocolate Bon-bons? You know, to get you fat?

Haha. You have plenty of time.

Iccy, you have a great attitude. Since you are likely in far better shape than the rest of us, you will still be in better shape than us after your downtime.

For my 4 different 6-week post-op restrictions in 18 months, I tended to cheat a little when I reached the 5th week. It is not fun to be told to chill out when you are active.

At your age Dan, 40 days is plenty of time to get back the little you lose even starting slowly to get back into it! Use this time to just relax and read. :)

Thanks for the support!
It\'s very true Mtnmutt, being told to chill out is definitely not fun.

Like you said Tim, I am reading some great hunting books, doing some internet scouting, building checklists for before my hunts, and doing LOTS of homework.

:upthumb:

dan, with this toe event, maybe you will be close to me in fitness after your recovery...... not!

Dan..let me know if you need anything.

i\'ll airship you a San Francisco round of Sourdough if it would make you feel better. or CA wine.that always works with pain-meds.

RAN awesome today.

i think it is the dumbass jogger bucket hat i got. hahah. it\'s weird. i\'m like \"inner circle\"with the trail running crowd. folks are saying hello to me, and asking about trail conditions and rattle snake sightings. i keep seeing the same people. weird. i dont think i am the outsider, pasty white, chubby beginner runner anymore.

inner circle.

tomorrow is going to kickbutt. i ALREADY called in sick. i am hitting the bowrange with a buddy and will go to the range with a 100 yard target. gameon!

cough cough..i feel a fever coming on..cough. sneeze.

Dan you can practice calling as long as your wife isn\'t home.
I have the perfect set up. I have 6 of my calls out, YouTube on the big screen with noises for me to mirror, and BTO open on my laptop. Lots of practice happening today. My dogs like it ;)

I\'ve been at home watching elk videos, seminars, scouting on google maps, and so much more.
I wanted my wife to have a good day, so I told her to go do some shopping.

She came back with some good stuff and then I said \"I\'ve been watching hunting stuff all day, why don\'t you pick some movies for tonight....\"

Biggest mistake ever....... tonight we are watching 50 shades of gray and one of the hunger games.......

I\'ll be playing on the computer during both of those for sure :(
