I have a PSE X Force Vendetta set at 65# DL 26\". It seems to shoot pretty good. The elk don\'t seem to like it. lol

Z7, 64#, arrow with broad head is around 425gr.

I think the calculated KE is low 70\'s ft lbs.

Here is article I wrote for the CPW a few years ago. It includes the formula to calculate KE.

My beast killer is an old, slow Mathews DXT. 64# @ 27 1/2\". Moves my pretty sticks out at a blazing speed of around 270fps.

JJ, that is some pretty amazing KE your pushing!

AmericanBwana, very informative read. im going to have my son read it tomorrow. im just wondering why you didn\'t mention momentum in the article? I personally look at momentum more than KE. since you mentioned it though. heres my numbers

KE 120.5 momentum is .806, I was trying to build a setup to hunt anywhere in the world. im not sure if I would meet the standards for an elephant hunt or not but im sure I could hunt everything smaller than one. I just didn\'t want to feel under powered while hunting elk :wtf: hence my handle \"OVERKILL\"

JJ: I am actually rather big for my size. I am just a little short in the arms and legs.

Still shooting my 10 year old Mathews LX, 340 Beaman ICS Hunters, and Stingers on the business end.

D350 babeeee. The rest of my set up is irrelevant with this instrument of death :)

Old Hoyt Ultratec set at 29 inches DL, 67#, shooting a 30 inch Beeman HIT with a 100 grain Muzzy 3 blade. If it ain\'t broke....

I am still shooting a Parker Ultra Light 31. I am on my third set of strings. I would like a new bow but the price of them Wow. I also like my light bow, 2.8lbs bare bow. I pull 68# at 28.5\" and push a Gold Tip 5575 XT Hunter tipped with 100gr Montec. Mine works and it is like an old friend. We have taken an elk a few turkeys a few rabbits and a lot of tree rats. I would hate to guess how many WT deer it has pushed an arrow through.

70# recurve with 715 grains of Full Metal Jacket. Speed is not a thing I measure with this bow, but it hits like a bowling ball.

Glenn

53# Kelley recurve or 57# Kelley longbow. Beman MFX 500 shafts, 125 grain 3-blade Muzzy, total arrow package around 475 gr.

Don\'t know what it hits like, but there are a whole bunch of dead elk (and other stuff - caribou, red deer, muleys, whitetails, bears) that didn\'t like it much.

For Run & Gun:
PSE Drive - 62#
Gold Tip 55/75 XTHunters
100gr Slick Trick
420gr arrow weight [380 + 40 trimmer line]

For Treestand:
55# Bear Grizzly
Gold Tip 35/55 Traditional
135gr Zwickey Eskilite
460gr arrow weight

I don\'t believe you guys for a minute. not a single newest latest greatest bow on this list. you all know you have to have that to kill. lol, jk
mine is a hoyt crx with the old fuel cam on it. bought it new after they discontinued them for a great price, but its two generation old tech. the elk I killed last year didn\'t seem to mind much.
its 64 lbs, 28.5 in draw lenth, shooting bloodline arrows with slick trick heads. had to put a drop away on it to get it to tune, miss my wb.

bnsafe. if I didn\'t spend the money on my omen I would be posting about a full throttle. next yr im going to buy one for sure.

I shot a Mathews Chillr a couple weeks ago  it was a sweet shooting machine. I just might have one before Sept.
