Montana and Idaho for me.  I always buy my resident WA elk tag but have yet to hunt for elk in this state.  I'm always hunting in another state during the WA season!

Sounds like I am in exactly the same situation as mallard79. I hunted the west side of WA last year and will be doing considerably more scouting this year to help me decide which side of the state to hunt in 2013.

My dad and I will be here in western WA again unless I can find a good place to hunt in Idaho that a 74 year old can walk easy and still have some decent numbers of elk to hunt. There are a lot more elk in Idaho and my goal is for my dad to get one with his bow before he can't go any longer. We have gotten close but still no score for him
