Just a bunch of good guys & gals here that love to hunt elk and like to learn from one another. No big heads that claim to be (The leading expert in the elk hunting field)!

I\'ve been hunting elk since many here were still in diapers. And every once in awhile, some newbe/rookie will come up with something that makes me sit back and say,\"Duhhhh! Why didn\'t I ever think of that\"?

Learning and sharing or my main reasons for being here. And making new friends along the way as well!
 
I just noticed something else different about this forum. It doesn\'t have any mods, but a bunch of site administrators. :dk:
 
Growing up my Dad didn\'t hunt. My grandpa took me hunting and I learned a lot from him but we never hunted together. When we got to the woods, he went his way and I went mine. I was 13. I learned how to turkey hunt by wearing out a cassette tape of Ben Rogers Lee and just making mistakes. I grew up around cotton fields in flat land with no wild turkeys for 60 miles. It took me 3 seasons before I finally killed my first turkey.

Elk hunting reminds me of the same thing. The Rockies are 1100 miles away, when I get there I\'m on my own. This forum is kind of like that cassette tape I had when I was a kid except it talks back :lol:

Just wished my grandpa was still around to go with me.
 
Great bunch of people on this site. Great source for getting info. from real hunters. ( Your never to old to learn new things ) Thanks to all the Site Admin. for putting the forum together.
 
Knowledgable and resourceful folks around here. And, I like the functionality of the forum, everything works smoothly and I do not have to worry about re-sizing images. :upthumb:

Other than that, I just enjoy B.S.\'ing with some of the World\'s best known B.S.\'ers :D
 
This forum is a great place to filter through the overwhelming amount of info out there about chasing Wapiti. This seems to be the place with a more straightforward group of hunters. While there is Plenty of BS here :shh: None of it makes it into the threads meant to actually help someone. I for one am very grateful to the Admins for the work they\'ve done and to eveyone that contributes...I hope to be able to add more and more to the conversation.
