You have 10 days to hunt

OK guys what are your favorite 10 days to be Elk hunting? I'm looking for opinions on the best 10 days to chase ruting bulls when you see the most ruting activity and bulls coming into calls

The 10 days they are bugling is my favorite.. You never know what those days are going to be so I suggest you hunt the whole month.  LOL.

September 20-30 is when I always take my vacay. Rather be too late than too early

For 10 days, I'd be there the to hunt 17th - 26th.  Seems as though our best bugling dates are centered around the 20th.  As with montanaelk, I'd like to be there later than early.

I'm a anything from 10th to the 30th.  Before the 10th bugling tends to be more spotty.  Biologically speaking Elk Ecology and management if I remember right says the most cows are bread from the 18th to 22nd with about a ten day window with others coming in to heat earlier or later.  Keep in mind more is being sorted out earlier than later, more bugling will happen later, but bigger bulls won't usually take over the herd till things get real.

Sep. 12-21. You will hit the jackpot somewhere in that time. My observation is if you will give yourself 10 hunting days you up your harvest percentages dramatically.
