our group is all out of staters, first rifle.  half cow, half bull tags. 7 of the 10 tags (a mix of youth/adult, and a mix of cow/bull) showed up a week ago. the other 3 havent shown up at all.  anyone else experiencing this?  do I need to be calling CDOW to inquire?

most constrained resource theory - shanes hypothesis

it is generally agreed that elk wont be found without the following: food water cover general sense of security [/list:u:2baivle4] it is my specific theory that elk will tend to congregate most around whichever of the above is found in least abundance. ie: if there is ample food, cover...

Building your own elk tent heater!! - Shane White (aka Billy Goat) Our elk camp is easily accessible by truck, so I don?t need a ?lightweight? heater. I just want one that works, and doesn?t cost a ton. This isn?t hard to do?. My elk hunting buddy Erik and I use ?UDS? smokers to cook all our...

24 hours in an elks life

I spend a TON of time staring at my maps, trying to pick the right place to be at a given hour. I wonder if anyone here has ever seen a simple writeup of what elk are doing in a \"typical\" 24 hour day. is it too inconsistent to speculate? I was thinking it\'d be handy to have an...
