2013 Elk101.com "Meatpole"

September 2nd, Alberta. We walked into his bedroom and gave a couple of soft cow mews. He screamed at us and walked in to 10 yards. My biggest bull to date.
Elk-Darren 2

Sorry, picture didn't paste. I'll try again.

Hmmm - can't figure how to put up a pic. Help?
Never mind - figured it out!

Bigfoot, Awesome bull, great picture.
Montana Bachcountry, I love the dark antlers on your bull

Bull #2 for the year, I was able to fill my Utah LE tag on the Manti.  We chased this bull all morning, taking a couple detours to check out some other bugling bulls but eventually got in on this guy and shot him at 50 yards.  He is the biggest bodied bull I've ever seen and he has a ton of mass.  He is definitely an old warrior!

Heres my first bull elk! killed him after 14 days of hunting the Book cliffs roadless... worst/best/craziest hunt of my life. 2 tents destroyed by bears. rolled my ankle after killing my bull. stolen trail cam. broken bow string and bent riser on my bow so we had to buy a new one (got a hoyt :) ) and a TON of other things went wrong... about called it a hunt 10 times and headed home... but stuck with it and finally got me a good mature bull! never been happier. Im normally a muley guy, but yep, i got the bull bug........

Nice work nvbowhunting, way to stick with it through the lows.  It seems like some years are like that, glad you could end on a high.
This year for me has been amazing.  My Colorado bull (page1) ended up scoring 370" and my Utah LE bull (Page 3) scores 335"  I don't think I'll have another year this great again.

Great stuff guys, now im itching to go up the mountain, hopefully I can get done work sooner than later today!

My first bull!  40 yard shot, double lung, dropped less than 30 yards away.  Picked up the bow for the first time in June. I'm kinda bummed that I'm going to miss the rut...But sooo happy! I did it!
Congratulations!  Can't wait to do what you did!!

Cracking bull NV...you have to write your story for Extreme Elk; talk about triumph through adversity
