My goal for the past five years has been to call a big herd bull in for my dad as he has never shot a bull with his bow!  I finally met that goal this weekend when I called this herd bull from his cows for a 24yd shot! I have never seen my dad so excited and thrilled! I don't even care if I fill my tag because the joy it brought my dad was more than enough to tide me over till next year!

Congrats!  great bull and great story.  I take off next week to do the same for my dad! (although he's taken elk with his bow)
Nothing like hunting with your old man.  We'll be very lucky to take a bull like yours!

Yes BULLHUNTER the one side was broke off must have happened early in season all he had there was the eyegaurd and a nub.

Guiding for others is almost as rewarding as getting an arrow in a bull yourself.  I did say almost, right.    Hosted on a wounded warrior hunt for a week in ID and helped both my buddies get an arrow into a bull.  Below is the better of the two.  Came razor close to pulling a trifecta but it just wasn't in the cards....

called in an elk for my buddies son this year, 5x5 shot at 16 yards, his first bull. It is some really cool stuff. Called in 9 others that I have passed on so far, still waiting for the big one. had a great season either way just bringing the one in for a young hunter. all my respect to you Big Tex for helping out those who Deserve it greatly.

i was lucky enough to harvest this  nidaho herd bull on 9/21 after a two hour bugling match  and some secret calls from hatchet jack...... ;D ..
