Are bear tags OTC in CO? I want to take one with my bow next year and that would be a cool place to do it.

Some of them are. You need another big game tag to get the OTC tags, and the bear tag will be good for the same season, and form of take as the big game tag. You can also get one in the draw that\'s good for the whole month of Sept, and you don\'t need another big game tag to go with it.

Bear tags are easy to get now, because Colorado has too many bears right now.

Thanks Pete, that\'s good to know. I will have to start researching now. I would love to take a bear with my bow. Maybe I can try to draw an elk tag and then get a bear tag on top.

That\'s what most guys do. The bear hunters that are more serious will get the stand alone bear tag that\'s good for a month. I\'ll be doing that next year. I want to take a bear with my sidelock. Just like the old mountain men did. Hopefully, I won\'t need a 2nd shot.

Yes it has been a tad slow. Seeing some elk but no connects.
Weather wasn\'t favorable but we made due.

Packing up camp as I write this.
I will start putting the pics and stories together soon
