Don\'t forget your vehicles.....

Took my wife out to dinner. Parked under a shade tree.

Effen birds coated my truck. So bad I could smell it.

Washed truck in my dinner-clothes. Black birds. Wtf do they eat? Mortar?

Replaced alternator this morning.

Should be good to go but will do an oil change before the season starts

Yesterday was my SUV\'s summer service. My 4x4 adventures with rocks resulted in a bubble on the inside of my rear tire. Luckily it did not blow while driving.

My tires only have 16K on them. They said I was within the manufacturer specs to replace one tire and keep it on the rear to avoid pulling to a\\one side. I have only ever replaced all 4 tires. I have never had a bubble on a tire before.

I still have to do the spark plugs, all 16 of them..... r&r the tranny and power steering fluid.

Noticed some wheel shimmy this weekend. I\'m guessing when Discount Tire patched a nail a few weeks ago and balanced my wheel they had a bad weight. I have steel wheels and they use the surface mount weights and I noticed that the crimping piece is there but the weight is not.

Lark
When you take it in for balancing, have them put the weights on the inside of the rim

I kinda feel the tech should put the weight where it is most effective. And where the least weight will get it done.

I had a bud rotate tires on the rims to optimize balance so it would take the least lead. It was crazy to watch.

spark plugs came today. I know what im doing tomorrow, all 16.....

I think I am down to a tire rotation and another oil change, then I am (knock on wood) good to go.

these newer gas motor super duties come with the 6.2. its a v8 with 16 spark plugs.... 8 on top of the head and 8 on the bottom. you have to remove the wheel well liners to get to them...... got the throttle body cleaned out too.

yuck is right, with a lunch break, 6.5 hours. that was with cleaning the throttle body and air box..... as far as I know that problem has been fixed. even the later 5.4s have redesigned heads that have beefed up the area around the plugs and that was before the 6.2 came out in 2011.

wow. 6.5 hours is crazy.

my wife has a subaru forester. turbo. my first google search indicated that the motor needed to be lifted several inches for the plugs and coil packs to clear the sub-frame. i was sweating bullets and searching everything. i talked to a subaru tech and he said, no..it is doable. you have to pirouette (<<-----yes, i did just use a ballet term) the coil pack out while moving it out. it worked!! i had my two best buds with me, together the three of us have done some impossible car engine work. it was awesome to get the plugs done. she should be good forever.

my father in law\'s toyota camry.. the intake manifold needs to be removed to get to the rear 3 plugs. my friends quit answering their phones, and i got the hint. no thank you..when the time comes..toyota will get the car.

I had to remove the intake on the wifes Taurus when I changed the plugs. since I was there, I changed the cops and cleaned the throttle body and intake....
