Time for another Free Gear Friday! This week we will be giving away a Tight Spot 5 Arrow Quiver in Subalpine (we have both right and left hand available ;-) )

The contest will run until Sunday at 5:00pm MST. To be eligible to win, you must be in good standing on the forum and have a minimum of ten posts on the forum when we draw the winner. That means even if you are a new member, you have until Sunday at 5pm to meet that minimum requirement.

To enter, comment below and tell us the following:

1. How many arrows do you typically carry in your quiver?
2. Why did you decide on that amount?
3. Do you carry any small game arrows or are they all for elk?

Good luck!

I usually carry 5 arrows in my quiver. It's good to have extras just in case. You never know what might happen. Of the 5 arrows, 4 are for elk or deer and one for grouse.

1. I typically run with 5 arrows in my quiver.
2. The reason I run a 5 arrow quiver is mainly because of weight. My goal is to only need one arrow to get the job down, but I was also raised that follow up shots are sometimes the most ethical. This is especially true if a bad shot was taken the first time and another opportunity presents itself.
3. I don't typically carry any small game arrows, because I try to focus all my efforts on the task at hand.

Nice!
5 arrow quiver.

5 seems like a nice Goldilocks solution where seven seems excessive and three doesn't seem to be enough (depending on the hunt, i.e. backpack hunt or Basecamp, backpack hunting may warrant a few extra just in case of bent or broken arrows on falls)

4 fixed blades+ one mechanical for grouse or a longer follow up shot worst case scenario.

5 arrows with BH's (Slick trick 100 Gr) and one judo point so a total of 6 arrows in my current quiver. I do need a new one since I just got a new bow and the quiver I have kind of blocks me from accessing my drop away rest.

I have that many slots in my current quiver so that is the number I carry.

Pick me Sir.

I told my wife I wanted this exact quiver for my birthday when she asked for ideas. I?m willing to take the hit at home by winning this one though.

I?ve always carried a 3-arrow kwikee quiver but my current quiver is getting tired. I?m ready for an upgrade and I wanted the additional 2 arrows. I thought 4 would be enough but I also wanted it so I could carry at least one small game arrow, funny enough. That doesn?t happen with my current 3-arrow setup. 3 has almost always been enough for whitetail hunting but the distance covered during a day in the elk woods raises the stakes on running out of arrows. Although I?d probably want to go home anyhow if I used up 3 arrows and still had a chance to use the 4th... unless it?s to fill one of those recently reduced CO bear tags.

I am new to bow hunting and I do not have a quiver, YET. I am thinking maybe 7 arrows, but could settle on 5. Why, well since I have just started, I thought a couple extra may not hurt, just in case. 6 for elk/deer; 1 for grouse. If I go with 5, then all for elk/deer.

Typically I run 7 arrows. I pack in a couple small game tips so that way when I get to camp I will swap out two arrows with small game tips. This way on any given day I walk around with 5 big game and 2 small game with the ability to switch back to big game if needed. I wound up at this number because I hunt a week in the backcountry so ample arrows is imperative. I also love grouse/rabbit in the backcountry so small game tips are a game changer!

I carry 5. Dropped down from a 6 kwickie quiver to have a flatter one. 4 for elk and 1 grouse arrow.

I run a 5 arrow quiver

Figured I?d only get one shot possibly two if something went wrong.

Usually 4 broadheads and one small game head.

I typically carry 6 mostly because you just never know. I have actually had an elk give me four chances.  And definitely a grouse arrow tasty little fellas

I carry 5 arrows in my quiver.

That's what came with the bow when I purchased it.

I have never thought about small game heads, but will have to reconsider that as an option.

I carry 4 broadheads and 1 judo point for grouse.  And I carry that many, because you never know when you need an extra arrow.

I'm actually new to archery and elk hunting so I'm still trying to find the "right" amount of arrows that I prefer.
I probably will carry 4 arrows for elk and 1 for small game
I figure if I can't hit and kill an elk with four arrows, then that elk deserves to live.
Why not have an arrow for grouse.

1. How many arrows do you typically carry in your quiver?  I carry 5 because that's why my quiver holds hah. [/size]2. Why did you decide on that amount? I didn't think 7 arrows was necessary, and 3 made me uneasy so I've got a 5 arrow. 3. Do you carry any small game arrows or are they all for elk? I have, and I have also only carried 5 Elk arrows. I think it depends on the area I am going to hunt.

1. I carry 5 arrows
2. My quiver only holds 5
3. I will carry one arrow with a judo tip for grouse. The other four arrows get slick trick broadheads.

I carry five arrows in a my current quiver.

My current quiver holds 5 arrows, thus i dont see a reason not to carry the max amount of arrows possible, you never know what can happen out there.

I carry 4 broad heads and one field point. I only carry the one field point, because if i drop the bow on a longer hunt, i can shoot the bow and check to make sure everythings good.

I carry 5 arrows in my quiver.
Cant see myself needing more than that unless I will be spending a long time in the woods away from the truck.
Carry 4 with broad heads and 1 for small game.
