Shed Hunting

She came to about 15-20 yards 4 times popping her jaws. I put my sweatshirt on a shed antler and back slowly away. It got the blood pumping  I got some pretty decent photos but site won\'t let me add the file? Oh well, found some sheds too!

Hopefully the pics will get figured out...would love to see them! That would definitely get my attention

Nice sheds Will.
I hope you get the picture deal sorted out. I\'d love to see them.
I just upload my stuff to photo bucket and post.

We\'re you carrying a side arm or have a knife?

Nice sheds Will! So did you have bear spray with you? Side arm? 15 yds with popping teeth? An interesting thread may be the question \"at what point during a bear confrontation do you believe action is necessary\"?

Thanks guys! No sidearm. This is the 4th encounter I\'ve had in the last 5 years with a sow charging. I\'ve had them as close as 5 yards. I had my sidearm in that encounter and I would have shot her at the very last second, i.e. powder burns on the face close. I wouldn\'t judge someone for shooting sooner, but myself, I wouldn\'t shoot a sow with cubs unless I thought it was absolutely necc. to save myself or others. About 99% of the time they are all charge and not bite

You\'ll have no issue in Idaho then.
Sounds like you\'re a bear magnet.

I\'ve never dealt with bears charging and had no idea they will stop like that.

I may have been shooting earlier than 5 yards because of inexperience.

Its been an insanely good shed season for me. I\'ll post a picture of my haul from this year all together this weekend, dozens of elk and deer antlers. Found this the other day. Great 5X! I\'d love to shoot a big 5 like this someday. I\'ve seen quite a few 6 pts smaller than this guy, lion kill I believe

I also saw some bulls the other day with some really impressive growth already. Its been as wet a spring as I can remember so I guess maybe that\'s equating to some great growth

Good deal Will, great finds!!!!!!!!!!

I am hoping that with this mild winter that we had and all of this rain, that we will be seeing some great antler growth this upcoming year.

Been an absolutely awesome shed huntn season! Thought I\'d post a few of my best. This is a good one for a guess the score. Found them laying right next to eachother

Will, after finding the other side you also need to find him come Sept!

Where do you keep them all? They take up a lot more room than my deer sheds!

Tim, I\'m definitely gonna have to sell some of these as my wife just rolls her eyes now when I come home with more :D Here\'s a shot of the biggest I\'ve ever found. 23 inch 3rds  54 inch mains. Can you say \"BOONER\"?!!
