The IF deer hunt - Take IV !

Well, familiarity took over my decision this morning and I went back to WT1 stand.
Saw several deer and another passed buck

This time some more good video to share with you later

I doubt I would have passed on that buck on public land in NE ...

unless I already had THREE elk in the freezer!
 
As mentioned above, I took some videos while I was hunting.

Here is one...

The buck is coming in. Its hard to see if he is a shooter or not until he comes into the shooting lane.

You have 14 seconds to determine to drop the string...

Do I? Well, as a great hunter once said, and I paraphrase, \"My tag says it\'s a deer tag, not a big deer tag\".

Again, my freezer capacity might modify that.

Great video, though ... it brings me back to my younger days, hearing that \"Crunch ... crunch\" of deer hooves on cottonwood leaves.

This buck came in on the same trail as that big spike the day before, so I wasnt caught by surprise [too much]

Nice Brad, that\'s similar to my hunt Saturday morning. Saturday was my first time out. My son and I hunted together and I offered him to use my climber on a scrape or hang on that had four scrapes around it. Checked my trail cam and had one small buck and a shooter buck. He elected the hang on though. I had a six pointer come in at 8 yards and mill around. I was hoping he would make it over the hill and to my son but he didn\'t. May try to kill the shooter buck in the morning. I think he\'ll go around 120\" which isn\'t bad for southern Missouri public land.

I think that buck may have been a small 9. I would have probably passed him as well likely a good year and half to two and half.

Here we go. Take II

Sat in my stand tonight. 3 turkeys and a doe came by.
It was a bit breezy but the wind layed down tonight and tomorrow is gonna be golden!

But....
My trail camera had some good things to show me!
I set it on video mode and I got about 150 clips ten seconds long.
Bucks sparring. Bucks making a scrape and peeing in it.
Bucks using the licking branch.
Lots of different bucks too.
And Does and fawns.
Wow!!!!
