How did it feel? Good?

You know the elk isn\'t gonna carry itself :)

Sent via Jedi mind trick.

hahaha

It felt good, but I only did a mile and a half....
I don\'t want to overload myself and I should have just enough time to get back to a respectable shape before my hunt. :upthumb:

Draw, anchor, aim, hold, hold, hold, letdown...wash, rinse and repeat. It was time again to practice holding for longer durations. Last week, I practiced fast draw, anchor, aim, release. All practiced in kneeling position.

Crunch time has started...<30 days.

I did some hardcore hiking and scouting this weekend.

Probably a little more than I should have done, but I was able to identify my weak points from being in recovery for the 3-4 weeks.

I need to keep working on legs and core. Everything else is acceptable for where they stand, but obviously I will work on them too.

I\'m still feeling very confident for this year. :upthumb:

just got back from scout camp with the oldest boy, webelos. 3 days of hiking, packing, canoeing, archery and bb shooting, swimming, etc. I am beat!

Ex-scout leader here ... I know how you feel.

That said, it was worth it. My son, who, at times, I thought, didn\'t enjoy it, went on to become an Eagle Scout, and even then sometimes I wondered how much was \"sinking in\". But it did. He\'s told me now that he\'s old enough to enjoy a beer with Dad that it was important to him.

Odd sometimes how we don\'t know what\'s going on in the heads of our own children.

Today, I went for a horse ride in some new country ... saw some great spots, and got some exercise and mosquito bites, too.

I went camping this weekend. Didn\'t scout too much, mostly kicked back and relaxed
But I was still near my elk country so I hiked in and got my spike camp that I hung in a tree a year ago.
I never did use it, and I needed some stuff I had in for the WY hunt.

A year later all was fine!

Then went for a drive just before dark and saw this guy lounging on the edge of the timber.

thanks john! I have a great group of parents and it was a blast for everyone! but, we had some late night parent conversations and I have a few of us who are pushing for our boys to become eagles! we are already talking about boy scouts and adventure camps.

Took my trailer to get an estimate on the damage I caused this weekend.... $2-3K.......

I may be doing this job myself.....
