Whats your next hunt?

My next hunt will be mid-December for deer with a bow on the Eastern plains of Colorado. This will be my last hunt this year. Next will be turkeys next spring.
 
Hunting Whitetail through the end of the year. In January me and my son are going to Palo Duro Canyon state park to hunt Mule deer and Aoudad, then at the end of the month off to Garner State park for Axis deer!! Hes pumped to say the least. All the hunts in January are through the Texas parks and wildlife draw hunts. Good Luck to all! :upthumb:

Dave, have you had a lot of luck at Palo Duro Canyon? It is not far from me and I believe I get free tags in Texas.
I was also wondering if there is any public land near you in Wichita falls?

I have training out there Dec 8th through the 18th and might bring my bow if there is public land to hunt.
 
Iccyman001, We went on that hunt last year and my son shot a muley doe. We saw a lot of deer and a lone aoudad ram which we tried to go after but no success. The only public land around Wichita Falls is LBJ national grass lands which is in Decatur and lake Meredith which is in Amarillo. I have never been to LBJ. We went to Meredith 2 years ago and shot a 4-4 Mule deer. I have herd a lot of deer being shot at LBJ but haven\'t been. If you want to go hunt while your down. Let me know and I will take you out to our land. If you have anymore question let me know.

David, I appreciate the offer, but the last thing I want to do is put a burden on you!
I live right on the NM/Texas border and amarillo is only a stone throw away. I mainly hunt deer in Oklahoma or if I draw in NM, but with Texas being so close, it would be silly for me not to take advantage of it. I was just always under the impression that Texas was loaded with private land and leases. I figured it was tough to find public land. If Palo Duro Canyon and these other areas that you speak of are public, then I need to do some research. Thank you for all of the information.
 
iccyman001, It wouldn\'t be a burden at all if you ever get down this way the invite is always open. The Palo Duro hunt is draw only not public. Lake Meredith up in Amarillo is the only public land that I know of that\'s close to you. If you need information on it let me know and I will get everything that I have copied and send it to you.
 
The plans are setting up.
Pikemaster and I are going to be heading to Nebraska late next week to do some ML whitetail hunting.
Went thru some gear today, PRE-measured some pyrodex on the scale and loaded up some speed loaders

Gonna be a good time!
 
January. Arizona deer! I\'ve never shot my bow as well as I do now. Just need to get in bow range of a legal couse deer!
 
Going to WY tmro to try to stick a lope with the bow. Still have 2 doe tags good till december 31. Then some predator hunting this winter and very likely some lion hunting

I know this will cause controversy about what kind of broadhead you used in order to get a blood trail like that. I suppose shot placement didn\'t have anything to do with it. :eek: Congratulations ! Even Stevie Wonder could follow that blood trail.
