cnelk\'s 2014 Archery Elk Hunt - 3 elk down!!!

We got both elk packed out.
I set up a tree stand over them in hopes to fill my bear tag.
Then we hung up all 8 quarters and then it was WALLEYE FRY TIME!!!

All full now waiting to go sit tree stands tonight
 
So here is the elk count....

We had 2 guys get their 1st archery elk!!!!
Matt - Rocky Mtn Head Hunters - took a nice cow yesterday morning.
A frontal shot did the trick!
This morning, a bull and a cow came into our calling and my son shot the bull and I shot the cow.
A DOUBLE!!!!
I also did a frontal at 8 yds and my son shot the bull at 12 yds with a perfect double lung pass thru.

Even better is that the bull is a non typicall!!!!

I don\'t have pics available on this phone but I got lots. ;)

Next up is bulls and bears

Who wants stories?

The double was something truly amazing ... I got to witness it as a non-shooter ... just calling ... and I\'ll let Brad do the story-telling, but that was one of the coolest things I\'ve seen while hunting.

Congrats to Brad and his son, Cole!
 
My thighs are killing me, just thinking about packing out 3 elk in 2 days. oofa.

good on yall, and we\'re all looking forward to the stories.

I\'m up in my tree stand right now.
I made one call and not long after 5 elk came right to me!
Cows, calves and a spike.
Best part is I got it on video!!!

Wait til Swede sees this !!!

We just got back from deer camp and I\'m wore out... :( :(

I\'ve got news for Swede ... Brad\'s treestands produce ... I was as skeptical as anyone, to be honest (sorry, Brad, but I had my doubts) ...

But I have SEEN THE LIGHT, BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!! HALLELUJAH!

Best thing yet is that Brad helped me locate a treestand of my own in my hunting area ... he sounded real confident about it, and now I\'m more confident than ever.

Brad\'s treestand methods and his 3-caller set-ups are what I really have \"gleaned\" from this site and from picking Brad\'s brain. I can\'t wait to apply what I\'ve learned.
 
Been calling setups all morning.
Finally 3 cow elk came in. But they came to Matt not Calvin ;(
One cow was 7 yards from Matt and I was proud of his restraint!!!!!

Then we waked just a bit and bumped the 6x6 that Matt and Calvin called in.
On the last setup now.

Calvin is in the batters box!
