In preparation for my elk season i have been working on my fitness level and doing as much scouting as i can. Shooting the bow also doesn't hurt.

Applied for CO, to MT, and entered the KY lottery as well...  I guess i'd have to say winning the KY lottery would be great!  But coming down to earth...  CO would be a great tag.

Not applying for any tags this year going to do OTC in Colorado and have for the past couple of years been able to get a land owner tag in NM.

Training for a half marathon and i am lucky i get to do a black bear hunt in BC in early May which helps me keep shooting. Also if there is one in your area i highly recommend doing a train to hunt event

Best advise i have for archery elk hunters is just to love being in the awesome places we get to go and keep hiking

Best gear i have used are the ascent pants my tip would be to buy the knee pads for them as i am amazed at how often they are needed, also double as a nice sitting pad if you are not doing an all day sit.

Tell us what states you applied for this year and what tag you hope for the most

Applied for CO and MT this year. Hoping and planning for a Montana Hunt.

Tell us what you're doing in preparation for the season

I've already started hitting the gym to drop weight and build core and lower body strength.  I'll be shooting my bow as soon as the weather warms up a bit.
