Tell us what you?re doing in preparation for the season - I have been lifting every day and doing cardio several times per week. I am buying equipment I need and practicing with my bow
Share one piece of advice you?d give to anyone interested in elk hunting - Don't ever think you know everything and always be learning something new
Preparing for the season looks like the rest of my year, work out 5 times a week, shoot 2-3 times a week. If you don't have an off season you really don't need to prepare, you are always ready!
My best piece of advice for someone interested in elk hunting is to not get discouraged when they don't see animals or go home empty handed. Every-day hunting is usually harder than what you see on TV and YouTube, but you can't shoot an elk from your couch, so get out there!
Welp...otc is all we do. I have not put in for any tags. I know it?s not normal but this is the way our family has hunted for years. Three generations for that matter and everyone has been pretty successful so far except me :-\ but that?s ok. I have been blessed to have gone four years:the first year it was just my husband and I, I only had my camera. This was my first time on a hunt when he bagged his trophy! I was hooked! I was also a part of the stalk when our son bagged his first trophy! No I have not been successful yet in the 4 years of my persuit but collectively you could all help me this year by sending success vibes for me!
With the help of The Good Lord, Cory?s elk101 and Randy N?s Help I hope 2018 will be my year.
Otc- Colorado.
158 days and counting! Started my mountain training workout, setting up my target Saturday, elk 101 in session daily, reading everything I can here to pick up little pearls of wisdom, ordered my Rocky Mountain Elk Call(Kristi?s) and will begin practicing soon as it arrives! (what will the neighbors think when they hear it lol) and sending prayers for a safe and success hunt to the one who provides it all. Blessed.
