Good stuff!! Our hunting group is staying local in Wyoming. As Cheyenne residents, we've put in for the Area 7 resident draw and are awaiting the draw date. If we do not draw, we will purchase the resident General tag and hunt somewhere in the Sierra Madres or Snowy Range mountains. Specific unit to be determined...
Preparation for 2018: Working out in the gym 6 days per week. Running 10 minutes before each workout. Eating clean for the first time and feeling great. Shooting 3-D events for the first time this year.

That's an easy one. The first bugle heard in the elk woods always brings a smile. Specifically this year, I'll be trying to get my son his first archery bull and my brother is coming out from Missouri to rifle hunt cow elk - and we'll be trying to get him his first elk.

Gold's Gym group exercise classes minimum 3x week plus leg work (squats/deadlifts etc.). Once the weather permits, start hiking the hills in the Snowy Range.
Prep for the season:
This could be a big list....but to keep it simple its staying in decent shape but the biggest thing is scouting new country. I make a point to look over some new areas every year and im really looking forward to that part. Its the biggest factor in being successful IMO.
One piece of advice
Elk hunting out west, it can seem like really big country and you may be in a hurry to get somewhere. Slow down and be aware of your surroundings.
