1. Utah - deer and ok
2. Idaho - will apply for deer, elk, and pronghorn. I hope for the archery elk tag I put in for most

Whitetail and turkey in Nebraska.

Im excited to see some new Rocky mountain country and to get in a couple scouting trips.

Ive been lifting weights and refining my gear list.

My advice would be take less food than you think you'll need, stay mobile and stay out there as long as you can.

I am definitely most excited about getting out hunting in the west in some fashion.  If I strike out in NM, I will at worst be hunting lopes in WY.

Less than a 50yd recovery from impact point to where the elk piled up.  Simply amazing the amount of damage a broadhead can do.

My elk hunting tip would be to not take elk hunting tips from me.

Share one piece of advice you?d give to anyone interested in elk hunting

Absorb all the knowledge you can from the experts.  Purchase and use the Elk101 course.  But most of all have fun...  The first time you get close to a bugling bull it will raise the hair on the back of your neck and you will be hooked!

I am most excited for the opportunity to yet hit the elk woods with my family and best friends. The camaraderie of an elk camp is second to none.

In preparation for this season I am


Running two 5k's/week as well as hitting the weight room 2x per week
Practicing calling 3-4 times/week
Shooting every chance I get.

One piece of advise i have is to soak up as much information as possible. Listen to podcasts in your spare time, watch the BRO land of the free project. And get off the couch and get into shape!

I applied in New Mexico this year and plan to build points in Arizona, Wyoming, and Montana.  May try an over the counter hunt in Colorado if I don?t draw in New Mexico.

I am the most excited about applying for a tag this year and starting the point building process.  I have always wanted to hunt elk and being from the Midwest I have not taken the initiative to do so.  I am not going to sit back and dream about hunting elk anymore.  I am going to go.
