Deer hunting update thread

Today was a bad start.....

I snuck into my honey hole and the conditions were perfect.
At 7:42 I REALLY had to pee.....

So I slowly stood up and and my seat my a TINY squeak.... I heard this noise that sounded like something big started moving....

I froze, waited 30 seconds and figured it was either a deer or coyote, then just started peeing.

I look up towards the end of my pee and I see a giant buck cross a lane in front of me..... 40 yards.......

He walked behind a cedar tree and I watched him the whole way.........

If he wouldnt have heard me he would have come right up to me...

I went through my videos today and here he is.... I thought he was a typical 10 and around 140\".
He\'s a 5x4 and probably in his low 30s. Great buck!!!! I will get him....

Today is the day. I feel it

Good luck Dan. I hope the weather is better down there. It was 54 degrees on the way into work this morning and there was worms crawling on the sidewalk. How crazy that is for mid November. The weather man says snow on Friday night with possible several inches by Saturday morning. I\'m ready for some cooler weather.

Well, I should have a great buck down and a doe from today, but I\'m being an absolute idiot out here....

34 degrees, tarentrial downpour, ice storms approaching and I leave a warm house with food to go hunt deer.
Can\'t kill them from the couch.

1 am farm road extraction.
Off to a good start! (Buddy is stuck, not me)
Oh...and the wrecker is stuck too. DURAMAX to the rescue.

2 am update.

Buddy is out, wrecker is stuck, I drive a mile around the nastiest crap ever and get stuck 100 yards from the paved road that could have taken me around to the wrecker to pull him out. He\'s stuck on the road we needed to take to get out.

I\'m going to do a dang hunting rig build or get this duramax a winch, lift and lockers.

Bummer!!

Rear differential locks make a HUGE difference for traction.

As bad as it sounds you might just need a tractor to get the three of you out now.

I agree Don.

Also not going out in downpours and ice storms. That is also good for traction haha.

This is just another justification for me to buy my Unimog!!!!!!
As long as I can get unstuck, I\'ll go battle this nasty weather and hunt, but I have an odd feeling this is a \"go home, stupid!\" sign.

And I pulled the original guy out. Now it\'s me and the wrecker stuck. He can\'t get around the wrecker and I don\'t think he\'d make it to me in his truck.

I\'d kill for a dozer or a skidder right now!

New update.

Wrecker tried to pull himself out in a telephone pole and I bet you can guess what happened........

Cops are coming.

That\'s all happening over on that side. Me, I\'m just still stuck.
