My dad is putting in for a Muzzleloader tag in the OTC archery unit I am applying for, it will be great to chase bugling bulls with my dad.

To prepare for this season, I have been blowing up the usage of my onX, goHUNT, and Elk101 course.  As well as getting my family out hiking more and fine tuning my equipment I will be taking afield.

I have taken all 5 bulls with a muzzleloader in Colorado so i will apply for a preference point and go OTC ARCHERY

I dont have any pics from the previous time on my computer so I am just posting a pic of the creek by my house.

I have applied for my limited tag in the state of Colorado. I most hope for my elk tag to come along! No whammies!

I am most excited to end my trend of tag soup and to instead put it all together as a solo backcountry archer! It's been a long haul, full of inexperience, injuries, miscalculations etc., but I feel it in my bones that this is the year I'll connect!

To prepare for this year's elk, deer, turkey, small game, and bear hunts, I am conditioning the hell out of my body, and yes my mind, as the latter seems to get weak out there in the thin air while humping a pack up against the divide. Logically, I am reading up on set-ups and scouting my unit with maps and tech until the snow melts so I can get boots on the ground!

Share just 1 piece of advice for a future elk hunter? That's tough! But, I'd suggest getting into the best physical shape of your life before hitting the hills. Hands down.

I have applied for Washington. I am looling forward to hopefully getting a multiseason elk tag.
I am most excited to hunt with my son and brother in law.
In preparation for the upcoming season i am shooting my bow A LOT.
The one advice i would give is BE PATIENT.

I drew my AZ Archery tag earlier this month. Have dropped 8 pounds so far, ridding my Fat Tire Mt. Bike every morning. Need to lose 8 more pounds and work on my cardio. It's going to be a good year.

I'm really looking forward to hunting with my turkey hunting buddies if we draw NM!

So far I haven't done a lot except shoot my bow a little between snow storms.

One thing I advise is hunt till dark. So many times I've seen people heading back to camp in prime time because they don't want to be to far from camp in the dark. Get a good GPS and compass and maps and learn how to use them.

Getting pumped for the up coming season. Here in Montana we have already applied for tags and are waiting for the results. Last year I drew mountain goat. So hoping to get lucky on a good elk tag.
Use Rockies game calls. 2 weeks ago I got this elk tattoo. So addicted to elk hunting.....
