Saturday is the opening day of my short rifle season, I will have it latched to my pack but will primarily be bow hunting. Good thing for any weapon seasons.
Top O' the morning. Well heading back into the woods this weekend for the late season archery hunt here in North Idaho. I am able to borrow a snowmobile from a friend and am looking for suggestions on a pace to go or someone to go with.
Last weekend for elk hunting here in NI, I will be out sniff'n around for them. I do have a small rifle season though, Oct 25-29 and another short bow season Dec 1-6. I would prefer not to have to wait till Dec or Oct.
Went out Sunday morning, got to the top of the ridge. Stopped to listen and low and behold Mewing down the hill. Circle down the hill see the elk and with them was a super nice 6x6 at 50+ yards. He didn't know we were there but I think he saw our movement (rookie mistake) and eventually stood...
Went out to do some Huckleberry picking this weekend, low and behold I ran into a group of about 15 elk, was able to see some horn on a small bull; it is enough to get me even more excited.......
Two houses down, my neighbor was having a yard sale and in his yard sale is a Ben Pearson Signature bow ( two-piece) 58 inches, 45#@28"; good find it will go along with my Bear recurve nicely.
