Here\'s a two year old from this morning. First two mornings I hunted some new ground with my cousin. Seen several hunters and it was very windy. Hunted some of my old spots this morning. It was raining until almost daybreak. This little guys stayed on the limb until 7:10. He gobbled quite a bit. I got pretty close to him and hit him with some cuts after he finally decided to hit the ground. He was lonely. Hopefully I can find one for my son this weekend. He was a young bird but a decent beard. 9.5 beard and 5/8 spurs.

Congrats! Nice one

I have a couple weeks left. I haven\'t seen many and been too busy to get out much. I will try this weekend to find a bird.

I have never hunted for turkey, but was thinking of doing it next fall. I have nothing to do next Sept.

Any chance for a fall contest, or is that too busy with elk hunting then?

We can look into it Pete.
I actually had a pretty cool idea for a deer contest, but I am always up for some more fun.

Let me hit the drawing board.

Well, I have a buck tag for the middle of Oct. I\'d be up for that too. I\'m not a great deer hunter, but i\'d try.

I was awaken at 5:30 by gobbles. I got up made some tea and a peanut butter and bacon sandwich. I left the house at 6:00 hearing a gobble just down the driveway. I walked about 1/8 mile to where the first bird was still roosting. I heard another that sounded as if he was on the ground a little further. So I walked another 1/8 mile down my driveway and across the bridge. I peeked out into the lower field to see 3 hens. The gobbler sounded off just up the hill in the timber. I quickly set up near a honeysuckle bush because I was sure he would head towards the hens. Sure enough he was strutting along up the driveway right to me. :mg: I let him have it and dropped him on the driveway. He did manage to get me as I moved him off to the side of the driveway before heading home.

I was done hunting at 6:15 and back home at 6:30

I will measure him and give the details later.
